General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forkfork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport applications, we typically recommend a progressive forkfork spring to optimise responsiveness and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. Crucially important is the combination of the "Zero Friction" forkfork springs with the specially developed Wilbers forkfork oil, as well as observing the correct air chamber for the corresponding respective vehicle. If desired, in special cases, individual tuning can be achieved by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon forkfork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed with the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through tumble finishing:
During tumble finishing, the componentcomponents to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfork springs, are placed together with a grinding medium specifically tailored for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the grinding medium, and through constant rubbing, lead to a smoothing of the componentuppersurface. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forkfork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of forkfork springs includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forkfork oil and the height of the air chamber in the forkfork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel front end.
