Without an ABE or E-number and without the exhaust being registered, the motorcycle's operating permit can be voided, a fine can be imposed, and there can be problems with insurance or the TÜV. An exhaust without any approval can theoretically be legalised through an individual acceptance test, but this is often expensive and not always possible.
