Information on battery disposal
According to the latest adjustment of the Battery Act (BattG), a general system with return receipts has been introduced for mandatory battery disposal. This regulation aims to avoid unnecessary transport routes and reduce the safety risk during the transport of defect batteries to a minimum. In practice, the return process for the end consumer has now been simplified and can proceed as follows:
The battery ordered via the internet will be delivered to you, and a legally required deposit of 7.50 EURO per battery will be charged in addition to the product price. You do not send your old battery back to alpha Technik, but rather return it to any suitable battery collection point, such as car or motorcycle dealers, or recycling centres in your area. This business completes the return receipt below and confirms the proper battery return. Please submit a copy of this proof, stating the invoice number, to alpha Technik within 2 weeks of returning the old battery to claim a refund of the deposit amount.
The deposit can only be refunded by alpha Technik for batteries that were demonstrably purchased directly from alpha Technik. If you purchased a Licence or TopLite battery through a physical retailer, the old battery should be returned there.
This regulation only applies to starter batteries used in conventionally powered motor vehicles.

Notes on the safe handling of lead accumulators (lead batteries)
With the mounting of lead (CAS No.: 7439-92-1) into the REACH Candidate List, we as distributors of batteries have extended information obligations. We hereby inform you that lead is contained in the acid batteries we supply. For the safe handling of lead batteries, we refer to the following ZVEI information sheet, which is available for download here.
