Fork Seals
A clear sign of worn fork seals are oily fork stanchions. Normal wear, but especially barely visible grains of sand, dust, and dirt particles destroy the fork seals. Oil slowly leaks out, can get onto the brake discs and poses an unnecessary risk factor. Even more serious is a front fork that no longer functions properly with diminishing damping. New fork seals will provide proper sealing again. Beforehand, the polished fork stanchions should be checked for damage.
