General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers you progressive or linear forkfork springs, made from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring sport, we generally recommend a progressive forkfork spring to optimise responsiveness and, on the other hand, to increase resistance to bottoming-out. The combination of the 'Zero Friction' forkfork springs with the specially developed Wilbers forkfork oil and attention to the correct air gap for the corresponding vehicle is very important. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air gap.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon forkfork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

'ZERO friction' friction reduction through slide grinding:
During slide grinding, the componentparts to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfork springs, are placed together with abrasive media specially designed for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, leading to a smoothing of the componentuppersurface through constant rubbing. The result of the process is a fine, shiny surface.
For Wilbers forkfork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of forkfork springs includes a recommendation for the viscosityviscosity of the forkfork oil and the air gap height in the forkfork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimum riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
