General Description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear fork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport recommend we generally recommend a progressive fork spring to optimise the response behaviour on the one hand, and to increase the bottoming-out resistance on the other. The combination of "Zero Friction" fork springs with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil and observing the correct air chamber for the corresponding vehicle is very important. If desired, an individual setup can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, recommend we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon fork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed with the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the parts to be processed, such as Wilbers fork springs, are placed together with an abrasive media specially adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, leading to a smoothing of the part surface through constant rubbing. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of fork springs includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the fork oil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal ride comfort and feedback at the handlebars.
