General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear fork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. In touring and touring-sport recommend, we generally recommend a progressive fork spring to optimise responsiveness and increase bottoming resistance. Crucial is the combination of the "Zero Friction" fork springs with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil, as well as observing the correct air gap for the respective vehicle. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air gap.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very lightweight linear chrome-silicon Wilbers fork springs, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the workpieces to be processed, such as Wilbers fork springs, are located together with an abrasive media specially tailored for this application in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media and lead to a smoothing of the workpiece surface through constant rubbing. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each fork spring set includes a recommendation for the grade of the fork oil and the air gap height in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
