General Description

The Honda NT 1100 / SC84 originally features progressive fork springs where the first spring rate is too low, but the second is significantly too stiff. In addition, the second spring rate is reached quite quickly due to a suboptimal block value.
The damping in the fork is also not optimal in the series. The fork practically springs towards you.
The Wilbers solution initially uses slightly stiffer, but softer progressive springs in the second spring rate. The block value is also optimised compared to the series.
The Wilbers conversion results in significantly better responsiveness of the fork.
The shock absorber of the Honda NT1100 / SC84 also originally features a progressive spring with a very poor block value, meaning the rider is constantly operating in the second, also too stiff, spring rate.
Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with a progressive lever system. In this combination, there is absolutely no comfort in the series.
The Wilbers conversion relies on linear springs on the shock absorber, in conjunction with optimised rebound and compression damping damping. This results in maximum comfort gain.
The chassis geometry on the front and rear axles has been sensibly adjusted via the negative spring travel. Originally, the vehicle has excessively high negative spring travel.
For this reason, we also build the shock absorber slightly shorter than the series. However, the seat height remains the same as with the original chassis due to the adjustment of the negative spring travel. This benefits better handling and safe riding behaviour.
