General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forksprings, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport recommend, we generally recommend a progressive forkspring to optimise the response and, on the other hand, to increase the bottoming resistance. The combination of the "Zero Friction" forksprings with the specially developed Wilbers forkoil and observing the correct air chamber for the respective vehicle is very important. If desired, in special cases, an individual setup can be achieved by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon forksprings from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction by vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the component to be processed, such as Wilbers forksprings, are placed together with an abrasive media specifically designed for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, leading to a smoothing of the componentuppersurface due to constant rubbing. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forksprings, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of forksprings includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forkoil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback on the front wheel.
