General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forkfedern, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and sport-touring, we generally recommend a progressive forkfeder to optimise response and increase bottoming resistance. The combination of "Zero Friction" forkfedern with the specially developed Wilbers forkoil, as well as observing the correct air gap for the respective corresponding vehicle, is crucial. If desired, an individual setup can be achieved in special cases by changing the air gap.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon forkfedern from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the component to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfedern, are placed together with an abrasive media specifically adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, leading to a smoothing of the componentupper surface through constant rubbing against each other. At the end of the process, a fine, glossy surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forkfedern, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each forkfedern set includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forkoil and the air gap height in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback on the front wheel.
