General Description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear fork springs, made from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport, we generally recommend a progressive fork spring to optimise responsiveness and, at the same time, increase bottoming resistance. Crucially, combine the 'Zero Friction' fork springs with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil and ensure the correct air chamber for the respective corresponding vehicle. If desired, an individual setup can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very lightweight linear chrome-silicon Wilbers fork springs, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the component to be processed, such as Wilbers fork springs, are placed together with abrasive media specifically tailored for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, leading to a smoothing of the component upper surface through constant rubbing. The result of the process is a fine, polished surface.
For Wilbers fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means minimising friction = ZERO friction.

Each fork spring set includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the fork oil and the air chamber height in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimum riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
