General Description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers you progressive or linear fork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport, we generally recommend a progressive fork spring to optimise responsiveness and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. The combination of "Zero Friction" fork springs with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil is very important, as is observing the correct air chamber for the corresponding vehicle. If desired, an individual setup can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber. For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon fork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team."ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing: During vibratory finishing, the components to be processed, such as Wilbers fork springs, are placed together with an abrasive body specifically tailored for this purpose in a vibrating container, the so-called trough vibrator. The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive body, and through constant rubbing, lead to a smoothing of the componentupper. At the end of the processing, a fine, glossy surface is achieved. For Wilbers fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.Each fork spring set includes a recommendation regarding the viscosity of the fork oil and the air chamber height in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.Note: please order the fork oil separately.
