General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear fork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport recommend we generally recommend a progressive fork spring to optimise responsiveness and, on the other hand, to increase resistance to bottoming out. The combination of "Zero Friction" fork springs with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil and adherence to the correct air chamber for the demcorrespondinge vehicle are very important. If desired, individual adjustment can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications recommend we use the very light linear chrome-silicon forkfedern from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the workpieces to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfedern, are located together with an abrasive media specially adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, the so-called trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media and lead to a smoothing of the componentupperfläche through constant rubbing. At the end of the processing, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forkfedern, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each forkfedern set includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forköls and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
