General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers you progressive or linear front fork springs, made from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring sport, we generally recommend a progressive front fork spring to optimise the response behaviour and on the other hand to increase bottoming resistance. The combination of "Zero Friction" front fork springs with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil, as well as observing the correct air chamber for the respective vehicle, is very important. If desired, an individual adjustment can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon front fork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the workpieces to be processed, such as Wilbers front fork springs, are located together with an abrasive media specifically adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, the so-called trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media and, through constant rubbing, lead to a smoothing of the workpiece surface. At the end of the process, there is a fine, shiny surface.
For Wilbers front fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of front fork springs includes a recommendation regarding the viscosity of the fork oil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimum riding comfort and feedback on the handlebars.
