General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers you progressive or linear front fork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport applications, we generally recommend a progressive front fork spring to optimise responsiveness on the one hand and to increase bottoming resistance on the other. Crucial is the combination of the "Zero Friction" front fork springs with the specially developed Wilbers front fork oil, as well as observing the correct air chamber for the respective vehicle. If desired, in special cases, individual tuning can be achieved by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon front fork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the workpieces to be processed, such as Wilbers front fork springs, are placed together with an abrasive medium specially adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive medium, and through constant rubbing, lead to a smoothing of the workpiece surface. At the end of the process, a fine, glossy surface is achieved.
For Wilbers front fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of front fork springs includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the front fork oil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the handlebars.
