General Description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear front fork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and sport touring, we generally recommend a progressive front fork spring to optimise responsiveness and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. The combination of the "Zero Friction" front fork springs with the specially developed Wilbers forkoil and observing the correct air chamber for the respective vehicle is very important. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend Wilbers' very lightweight linear chrome-silicon front fork springs, which were co-developed with the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the workpieces to be processed, such as Wilbers front fork springs, are placed together with an abrasive media specially adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator. The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, leading to a smoothing of the workpiece surface through constant rubbing. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers front fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each front fork spring set includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forkoil and the height of the air chamber in the front fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback on the front wheel.
