General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers you progressive or linear forksprings, made from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and sport touring, we generally recommend a progressive forkspring to optimise the response behaviour on the one hand, and to increase the bottoming resistance on the other. The combination of the "Zero Friction" forksprings with the specially developed Wilbers forkoil, as well as observing the correct air chamber for the respective vehicle, is very important. If desired, in special cases, an individual tuning can be achieved by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very lightweight linear chrome-silicon forksprings from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the workpieces to be processed, such as Wilbers forksprings, are located together with an abrasive media specially tuned for this purpose in a vibrating container, the so-called trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container generate a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media and, through constant rubbing, lead to a smoothing of the componentuppersurface. At the end of the processing, a fine, glossy surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forksprings, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of forksprings includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forkoil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
