General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forksprings, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. In touring and touring-sport applications, we generally recommend a progressive forkspring to optimise response and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. The combination of the 'Zero Friction' forksprings with the specially developed Wilbers forkoil and observing the correct air chamber for the respective vehicle is very important. If desired, in special cases, individual tuning can be achieved by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon forksprings from Wilbers, which were co-developed with the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through slide grinding:
During slide grinding, the components to be processed, such as Wilbers forksprings, are located together with an abrasive body specially adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, the so-called trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive body and, through constant rubbing, lead to a smoothing of the componentuppersurface. At the end of the process, a fine, glossy surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forksprings, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of forksprings includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forkoil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback on the front wheel.
