General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forksprings, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport applications, we generally recommend a progressive forkspring to optimise response and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. The combination of "Zero Friction" forksprings with the specially developed Wilbers forkoil and adherence to the correct air chamber for the relevant vehicle is very important. If desired, in special cases, an individual setup can be achieved by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend Wilbers' very lightweight linear chrome-silicon forksprings, which were co-developed with the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the workpieces to be processed, such as Wilbers forksprings, are placed together with an abrasive body specifically designed for this application in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive body, leading to a smoothing of the workpiece surface through constant rubbing. The result of the process is a fine, polished surface.
For Wilbers forksprings, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of forksprings includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forkoil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
