General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forksprings, manufactured from the finest and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and sport touring, we generally recommend a progressive forkspring to optimise response and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. The combination of the 'Zero Friction' forksprings with the specially developed Wilbers forkoil and adherence to the correct air chamber for the respective vehicle is very important. If desired, an individual setup can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend Wilbers' very lightweight linear chrome-silicon forksprings, which were co-developed with the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through slide grinding:
During slide grinding, the workpieces to be processed, such as Wilbers forksprings, are located together with an abrasive media specially adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, leading to a smoothing of the componentuppersurface through constant rubbing. At the end of the process, a fine, glossy surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forksprings, this reduction in surface roughness means minimised friction = ZERO friction.

Each forkspring set includes a recommendation regarding the viscosity of the forkoil and the air chamber height in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
