General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers you progressive or linear forksprings, made from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport applications, we generally recommend a progressive forkspring to optimise the response and, on the other hand, to increase the bottoming resistance. Crucially important is the combination of 'Zero Friction' forksprings with the specially developed Wilbers forkoil, as well as observing the correct air chamber for the respective vehicle. If desired, an individual setup can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very lightweight linear chrome-silicon forksprings from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through slide grinding:
During slide grinding, the component to be processed, such as Wilbers forksprings, are placed together with an abrasive medium specially designed for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative motion between the workpiece and the abrasive medium and, through constant rubbing against each other, lead to a smoothing of the componentuppersurface. At the end of the process, a fine, polished surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forksprings, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of forksprings includes a recommendation regarding the viscosity of the forkoil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
