General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers you progressive or linear forksprings, made from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport, we generally recommend a progressive forkspring to optimise the response and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. Crucially important is the combination of the “Zero Friction” forksprings with the specially developed Wilbers forkoil, as well as observing the correct air chamber for the respective corresponding vehicle. If desired, in special cases, an individual setup can be achieved by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon forksprings from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

“ZERO friction” friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the components to be processed, such as Wilbers forksprings, are placed together with an abrasive media specifically tailored for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, leading to a smoothing of the componentuppersurface through constant rubbing. At the end of the process, a fine, glossy surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forksprings, this reduction in surface roughness means minimising friction = ZERO friction.

Each forkspring set includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forkoil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback on the front wheel.
