General Description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forksprings, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport applications, we generally recommend a progressive forkspring to optimise responsiveness and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. The combination of “Zero Friction” forksprings with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil, as well as observing the correct air chamber for the respective vehicle, is very important. If desired, in special cases, an individual setup can be achieved by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very lightweight linear chrome-silicon forksprings from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the components to be processed, such as Wilbers forksprings, are located together with an abrasive media specially adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, the so-called trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, and through constant rubbing, lead to a smoothing of the componentupper surface. At the end of the processing, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forksprings, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of forksprings includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the fork oil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback on the front wheel.
