General Description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forksprings, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport applications, we generally recommend a progressive forkspring to optimise response behaviour and increase bottoming resistance. The combination of "Zero Friction" forksprings with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil and observing the correct air chamber for the corresponding vehicle is very important. If desired, an individual setup can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very lightweight linear chrome-silicon forksprings from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the components to be processed, such as Wilbers forksprings, are placed together with a grinding medium specially adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create relative movement between the workpiece and the grinding medium, and the constant rubbing together leads to a smoothing of the component surface. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forksprings, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each forkspring set includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the fork oil and the height of the air chamber within the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
