General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forksprings, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and sport touring, we recommend generally a progressive forkspring to optimise response and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. The combination of "Zero Friction" forksprings with the specially developed Wilbers forkoil, as well as observing the correct air chamber for the corresponding vehicle, is very important. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very lightweight linear chrome-silicon-forksprings from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the component to be processed, such as Wilbers forksprings, are located together with an abrasive media specifically adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, leading to a smoothing of the componentupper. The result of the process is a fine, shiny surface.
For Wilbers forksprings, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each forkspring set includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forkoil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
