General Description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers you progressive or linear forksprings, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport recommend applications, we generally recommend a progressive forkspring to optimise responsiveness and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming-out reserves. The combination of "Zero Friction" forksprings with the specially developed Wilbers forkoil, as well as observing the correct air chamber for the respective vehicle, is very important. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber. For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon forksprings from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through slide grinding:
During slide grinding, the workpieces to be processed, such as Wilbers forksprings, are located together with an abrasive body specifically designed for this purpose in a vibrating container, the so-called trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive body and lead to a smoothing of the workpiece surface through constant rubbing. At the end of the process, a fine, glossy surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forksprings, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each forkspring set includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forkoil and the air chamber height in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
