General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forkfork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. In touring and touring-sport applications, we usually recommend a progressive forkfork spring to optimise responsiveness and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming-out reserves. Crucially, the "Zero Friction" forkfork springs must be combined with the specially developed Wilbers forkfork oil, and the correct air chamber for the respective corresponding vehicle must be observed. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon forkfork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the Motorsport Team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the componentparts to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfork springs, are placed together with an abrasive media specifically designed for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, leading to a smoothing of the componentsurface through constant rubbing. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forkfork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of forkfork springs includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forkfork oil and the height of the air chamber in the forkfork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheelhandlebars.
