General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers you progressive or linear forkfork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport applications, we generally recommend a progressive forkfork spring to optimise the response and, on the other hand, to increase the bottoming resistance. Crucially, the combination of "Zero Friction" forkfork springs with the specially developed Wilbers forkfork oil, as well as observing the correct air chamber for the respective vehicle, is very important. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very lightweight linear chrome-silicon forkfork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the componentparts to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfork springs, are placed together with an abrasive media specifically adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container generate a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media and, through constant rubbing against each other, lead to a smoothing of the componentuppersurface. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forkfork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each forkfork spring set includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forkfork oil and the air chamber height in the forkfork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheelhandlebar.
