General Description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers you progressive or linear forkfork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring sport, we generally recommend a progressive forkfork spring to optimise responsiveness and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. Crucial is the combination of the "Zero Friction" forkfork springs with the specially developed Wilbers forkfork oil, as well as observing the correct air chamber for the respective correspondingvehicle. If desired, in special cases, an individual setup can be achieved by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very lightweight linear chrome-silicon forkfork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the componentparts to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfork springs, are placed together with an abrasive media specially adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, leading to a smoothing of the componentuppersurface through constant rubbing. At the end of the process, a fine, glossy surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forkfork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of forkfork springs comes with a recommendation for the viscosity of the forkfork oil and the height of the air chamber in the forkfork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheelhandlebar.
