General Description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forkfork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport applications, we generally recommend progressive forkfork springs to optimise responsiveness and increase bottoming resistance. The combination of "Zero Friction" forkfork springs with the specially developed Wilbers forkoil and adherence to the correct air chamber for the respective vehicle corresponding are very important. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend Wilbers' very lightweight linear chrome-silicon forkfork springs, which were co-developed with the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the componentparts to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfork springs, are placed together with an abrasive media specifically designed for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, leading to a smoothing of the componentsurface upper through constant rubbing. The processing results in a fine, shiny surface.
For Wilbers forkfork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means minimising friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of forkfork springs comes with a recommendation for the viscosityviscosity of the forkoil and the height of the air chamber in the forkfork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheelhandlebar.
