General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forkfork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport use, we generally recommend a progressive forkfork spring to optimise responsiveness and, on the other hand, increase bottoming resistance. The combination of the "Zero Friction" forkfork springs with the specially developed Wilbers forkoil and adherence to the correct air gap for the respective correspondingvehicle is crucial. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air gap.
For motorsport applications, we recommend Wilbers' very lightweight linear chrome-silicon forkfork springs, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the componentparts to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfork springs, are placed together with an abrasive media specially tailored for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, leading to a smoothing of the componentuppersurface through constant rubbing. The result of the process is a fine, shiny surface.
For Wilbers forkfork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each forkfork spring set includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forkoil and the height of the air gap in the forkfork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback to the front wheelrider.
