General Description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forkfork springs, made from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport recommend, we generally recommend a progressive forkfork spring to optimise responsiveness on the one hand, and to increase bottoming resistance on the other. The combination of the "Zero Friction" forkfork springs with the specially developed Wilbers forkoil and observing the correct air chamber for the respective vehicle is very important. If desired, an individual setup can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon forkfork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through tumble finishing:
During tumble finishing, the component to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfork springs, are located together with an abrasive media specially adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, the so-called trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media and lead to a smoothing of the componentuppersurface through constant rubbing. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forkfork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of forkfork springs includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forkoil and the height of the air chamber in the forkfork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimum riding comfort and feedback on the front wheel.
