General Description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers you progressive or linear forkfork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport applications, we generally recommend a progressive forkfork spring to optimise the response behaviour and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. The combination of "Zero Friction" forkfork springs with the specially developed Wilbers forkfork oil and observing the correct air gap for the corresponding corresponding vehicle is very important. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air gap.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon forkfork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the componentworkpieces to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfork springs, are placed together with abrasive media specially designed for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, leading to a smoothing of the workpiece componentuppersurface through constant rubbing. The result of the processing is a fine, shiny surface.
For Wilbers forkfork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of forkfork springs comes with a recommendation for the viscosity viscosity of the forkfork oil and the height of the air gap in the forkfork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimum riding comfort and feedback to the front wheelrider.
