General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forkfork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport applications, we generally recommend a progressive forkfork spring to optimise response and, on the other hand, increase bottoming-out reserves. The combination of the "Zero Friction" forkfork springs with the specially developed Wilbers forkoil and observing the correct air gap for the corresponding vehicle is very important. If desired, an individual setup can be achieved in special cases by changing the air gap.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon forkfork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed with the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the workpieces to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfork springs, are located together with an abrasive media specially adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, and through constant rubbing, lead to a smoothing of the workpiece uppersurface. At the end of the processing, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forkfork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of forkfork springs includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forkoil and the height of the air gap in the forkfork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
