General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forkfork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport, we usually recommend a progressive forkfork spring to optimise the response characteristics and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming-out reserves. The combination of "Zero Friction" forkfork springs with the specially developed Wilbers forkfork oil and observing the correct air chamber for the respective correspondingvehicle is very important. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon forkfork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the componentworkpieces to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfork springs, are placed together with an abrasive media specially tailored for this application in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, leading to a smoothing of the componentworkpiece uppersurface through constant rubbing. At the end of the process, a fine, gleaming surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forkfork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each forkfork spring set includes a recommendation for the viscosityviscosity of the forkfork oil and the air chamber height in the forkfork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheelhandlebars.
