General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forkfork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring sport recommends, we generally recommend a progressive forkfork spring to optimise responsiveness and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. The combination of the 'Zero Friction' forkfork springs with the specially developed Wilbers forkfork oil and observing the correct air chamber for the corresponding vehicle is very important. If desired, in special cases, an individual setup can be achieved by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very lightweight linear chrome-silicon forkfork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the components to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfork springs, are located together with an abrasive media specifically designed for this application in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, and through constant rubbing, lead to a smoothing of the componentuppersurface. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forkfork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means minimised friction = ZERO friction.

Each forkfork spring set includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forkfork oil and the height of the air chamber in the forkfork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimum riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
