General Description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers you progressive or linear forkfork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome silicon steel. For touring and sport touring, we generally recommend a progressive forkfork spring to optimise the initial response and, on the other hand, to increase resistance to bottoming out. The combination of "Zero Friction" forkfork springs with the specially developed Wilbers forkfork oil and adherence to the correct air chamber for the corresponding vehicle is very important. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome silicon forkfork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the componentparts to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfork springs, are located together with an abrasive body specially designed for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container generate a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive body, and through constant rubbing, lead to a smoothing of the componentuppersurface. At the end of the processing, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forkfork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of forkfork springs includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forkfork oil and the height of the air chamber in the forkfork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimum riding comfort and feedback at the front wheelhandlebar.
