General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers you progressive or linear forkfork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring sport, we generally recommend a progressive forkfork spring to optimise response behaviour on the one hand and increase bottoming resistance on the other. The combination of "Zero Friction" forkfork springs with the specially developed Wilbers forkfork oil is very important, as is observing the correct air chamber for the respective vehicle. If desired, an individual setup can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon forkfork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the component parts to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfork springs, are placed together with an abrasive media specifically adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container generate a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media and, through constant rubbing, lead to a smoothing of the componentuppersurface. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forkfork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of forkfork springs includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forkfork oil and the height of the air chamber in the forkfork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheelhandlebar.
