Wilbers forkfork springs for BMW R 80 85-

Product details

Wilbers forkfork spring kit, progressive, for BMW R 80, Type BMW 247, model year 85- (forkfork oil please order separately), with ABE according to the application list.

General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forkfork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and sport-touring, we generally recommend a progressive forkfork spring to optimise responsiveness and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming-out reserves. Crucially, the combination of "Zero Friction" forkfork springs with the specially developed Wilbers forkfork oil, as well as observing the correct air gap for the respective vehicle, is important. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air gap. For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon forkfork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through trowalising:
During trowalising, the components to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfork springs, are placed together with an abrasive media specially tailored for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, leading to a smoothing of the component surface through constant rubbing. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forkfork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each forkfork spring set includes a recommendation for the viscosityviscosity of the forkfork oil and the height of the air gap in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheelhandlebar.

Note: please order the forkfork oil separately.
