General Description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forkfork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport recommend we generally use a progressive forkfork spring to optimise responsiveness and increase bottoming reserves. The combination of "Zero Friction" forkfork springs with the specially developed Wilbers forkfork oil is very important, as is observing the correct air chamber for the respective vehicle. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, recommend we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon forkfork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the componentcomponents to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfork springs, are located together with abrasive media specially adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, leading to a smoothing of the componentuppersurface through constant rubbing. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forkfork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of forkfork springs includes a recommendation for the viscosityviscosity of the forkfork oil and the height of the air chamber in the forkfork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheelhandlebars.
