General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers you progressive or linear forkfork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. In touring and touring-sport applications, we usually recommend a progressive forkfork spring to optimise responsiveness and, on the other hand, to increase resistance to bottoming out. The combination of "Zero Friction" forkfork springs with the specially developed Wilbers forkoil, as well as observing the correct air chamber for the corresponding vehicle, is very important. If desired, an individual setup can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon forkfork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the componentworkpieces to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfork springs, are placed together with abrasive media specially designed for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, leading to a smoothing of the componentuppersurface through constant friction. The result of the processing is a fine, shiny surface.
For Wilbers forkfork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of forkfork springs includes a recommendation regarding the viscosity of the forkoil and the height of the air chamber in the forkfork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
