General Description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers you progressive or linear forkfork springs, made from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport, we generally recommend a progressive forkfork spring to optimise the response and, on the other hand, to increase the bottoming resistance. Crucially, the combination of "Zero Friction" forkfork springs with the specially developed Wilbers forkfork oil and observing the correct air chamber for the respective vehicle is important. If desired, an individual setup can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very lightweight linear chrome-silicon forkfork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the componentparts to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfork springs, are placed together with abrasive media specially adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, the so-called trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media and lead to a smoothing of the componentuppersurface through constant rubbing. At the end of the process, there is a fine, shiny surface.
For Wilbers forkfork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of forkfork springs includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forkfork oil and the air chamber height in the forkfork. These values were determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback on the front wheelhandlebar.
