General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forkfork springs, manufactured from the finest and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport applications, we generally recommend a progressive forkfork spring to optimise the response behaviour and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. Crucially, combine the "Zero Friction" forkfork springs with the specially developed Wilbers forkfork oil and ensure the correct air chamber for the correspondingrespective vehicle. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber. For motorsport applications, we recommend Wilbers' very lightweight linear chrome-silicon-forkfork springs, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through tumble finishing:
During tumble finishing, the componentcomponents to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfork springs, are placed together with an abrasive media specially adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator. The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, leading to a smoothing of the componentuppercomponent surface through constant rubbing. At the end of the process, a fine, gleaming surface is achieved. For Wilbers forkfork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means minimised friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of forkfork springs includes a recommendation for the viscosityviscosity of the forkfork oil and the height of the air chamber in the forkfork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheelhandlebars.
