General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forkfedern, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport, we generally recommend a progressive forkfedern to optimise responsiveness and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. Crucially, combine the 'Zero Friction' forkfedern with the specially developed Wilbers forköl and observe the correct air chamber for the corresponding vehicle. If desired, in special cases, individual tuning can be achieved by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon forkfedern from Wilbers, which were co-developed with the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the component to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfedern, are placed together with an abrasive media specially tailored for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container generate a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, and the constant rubbing together results in a smoothing of the componentupper.
At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forkfedern, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each forkfedern set includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forköl and the height of the air chamber in the fork.
These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
