General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers you progressive or linear fork springs, made from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring sport, we generally recommend a progressive fork spring to optimise the response behaviour and, on the other hand, to increase the bottoming resistance. Crucially, the combination of the "Zero Friction" fork springs with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil is very important, as is observing the correct air chamber for the respective vehicle. If desired, an individual setup can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very lightweight linear chrome-silicon fork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the workpieces to be processed, such as Wilbers fork springs, are placed together with an abrasive media specifically designed for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media and, through constant rubbing against each other, lead to a smoothing of the workpiece surface. At the end of the process, there is a fine, glossy surface.
For Wilbers fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each fork spring set includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the fork oil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback on the handlebar.
