General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forkfedern, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and sport touring, we generally recommend a progressive forkfeder to optimise responsiveness and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. Crucial is the combination of the "Zero Friction" forkfedern with the specially developed Wilbers forkoil, as well as observing the correct air chamber for the corresponding vehicle. If desired, in special cases, individual tuning can be achieved by changing the air chamber. For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon forkfedern from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the componente to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfedern, are placed together with an abrasive media specifically designed for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container generate a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media and lead to a smoothing of the componentupperfläche through constant rubbing. At the end of the process, a fine, polished surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forkfedern, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each forkfedern set includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forkoil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
