General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forkfedern, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport applications, we generally recommend a progressive forkfeder, to optimise responsiveness and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. The combination of the forkfedern "Zero Friction" with the specially developed Wilbers forköl and observing the correct air chamber for the demcorrespondinge vehicle is very important. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber. For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon-forkfedern from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the componente to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfedern, are located together with an abrasive media specially adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, the so-called trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between workpiece and abrasive media and lead to a smoothing of the componentupperfläche through constant rubbing against each other. At the end of the processing, a fine, glossy surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forkfedern, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of forkfedern includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forköl and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimum riding comfort and feedback on the front wheel.
