General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forkfedern, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring sport recommend we generally use a progressive fork spring to optimise the response and, on the other hand, to increase the bottoming resistance. Crucial is the combination of the "Zero Friction" forkfedern with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil, as well as observing the correct air chamber for the respective vehicle. If desired, in special cases, an individual setup can be achieved by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, recommend we use the very light linear chrome-silicon forkfedern from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the componente to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfedern, are located together with an abrasive medium specifically designed for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive medium and lead to a smoothing of the componentupper surface through constant rubbing. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forkfedern, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of forkfedern includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the fork oil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
