General Description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers you progressive or linear forkfedern, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport applications, we generally recommend a progressive forkfeder to optimise response and, on the other hand, increase bottoming-out reserves. The combination of the "Zero Friction" forkfedern with the specially developed Wilbers forkoil and observing the correct air chamber for the correspondinge vehicle is very important. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very lightweight linear chrome-silicon-forkfedern from Wilbers, which were co-developed with the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the componente to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfedern, are located together with a grinding medium specially adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, the so-called trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the grinding medium, and the constant rubbing together leads to a smoothing of the componentupperfläche. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forkfedern, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of forkfedern includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forkoil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimum riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
