General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers you progressive or linear forkfedern, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring sport, we generally recommend a progressive forkfeder to optimise the response behaviour and, on the other hand, to increase the bottoming resistance. Crucially important is the combination of the "Zero Friction" forkfedern with the specially developed Wilbers forkoil, as well as observing the correct air chamber for the respective vehicle. If desired, in special cases, an individual adjustment can be achieved by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon-forkfedern from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the Motorsport Team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the workpieces to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfedern, together with an abrasive media specifically adapted for this purpose, are located in a vibrating container, the so-called trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media and, through constant rubbing, lead to a smoothing of the componentuppersurface. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forkfedern, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each forkfedern set includes a recommendation regarding the viscosity of the forkoil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimum riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
